How to play Destiny Video Poker

The first version of Destiny Poker is based on Double Double Bonus. Future versions will be based on Deuces Wild, Jacks or Better, Triple Double Bonus and other versions of your favorite video poker games.

Why is Destiny Poker so unique and exciting?  If you wager 6 coins and hold all four (4) dealt Flush cards, you are guaranteed to win either one or more Pay Table wins, and/or Bonus Award Credits or Free Games!  You can even win up to five (5) times in a single game!

You begin playing Destiny Poker just like Double Double Bonus. In order to be eligible to play the Destiny Poker Bonus Game, you must wager the maximum wager per hand of 6 coins. If you wager 5 coins or less, the game is played as a standard Double Double Bonus game.

If you are dealt four (4) cards to any type of Flush, a sound will play, the Destiny logo will magnify and the game will show four (4) miniature cards in the upper right of the game screen to alert you that you might be eligible to play the two (2) Destiny Poker Bonus Games.  Fire will go around the 4 cards in the upper right and around the 4 cards in the main hand. Please see the screenshot shown below.

Why would you not be eligible to play the Destiny Poker Bonus Games? If on your first draw you complete your optimum Flush hand, then congratulations, you won the best possible outcome and the Destiny Poker Bonus Games are not enabled. It's when you don't draw your optimum Flush hand on your first draw that you get to play the two (2) exciting Destiny Poker Bonus Games.

You will be given two (2) choices:

1. Play the hand as is. I’m sure your first question is why would you do that? For example, if you are dealt the hand below, you have three (3) cards to a Royal Flush and four (4) cards to a Flush.

To be eligible to play the Destiny Poker Bonus Games, you must hold all four (4) cards to the Flush. If you would rather opt to just hold the three (3) cards to the Royal Flush and try and draw the missing two cards to the Royal, you are given the choice to do that. Isn’t it only fair that you get to choose your destiny?

Another example is a hand like this:

Standard Double Double Bonus optimum play says to hold the two (2) Queens. You can certainly do that in Destiny Poker. In that case, you will not have the opportunity to play the 2 Destiny Poker Bonus games. However, in Destiny Poker, you get two (2) separate opportunities to draw your missing Flush card, not just one like in a standard Double Double Bonus game. And even if you don’t, you are then guaranteed to win either 20, 25 or 30 credits for your 4 cards to a Flush or 1, 2 or 3 Free Games in the Match 3 Bonus game. It's nice to have enticing options!

If you hold all four (4) cards to the Flush, you are then eligible to play the Destiny Poker Bonus Games.

  1. Click on the Draw button and a card will be drawn. If you complete your Optimum Flush Hand (e.g. you have 4 mixed cards to a Flush and draw the 5th card of the same suit to complete the Flush or you have 4 cards to a Straight Flush and draw the 5th card to complete the Straight Flush), congratulations, you win the amount in the pay table for that hand and the game is over.
  2. If you don’t complete your Optimum Flush Hand (e.g. you have 4 cards to a Royal Flush yet you draw a card and get a Flush, a Straight or a Jacks or Better Pair), you win the amount in the pay table for that hand and the 1st Destiny Poker Bonus Game begins. Even if you don’t draw a pay table win, the 1st Destiny Poker Bonus Game begins:
  1. You will then be shown a Bonus screen with 47 card backs. This is your second chance to complete your Optimum Flush Hand. Unlike any other video poker game, you control your own destiny by selecting the card. The card has not already been selected. Please see the screenshot below:

  2. When you select a card, the game will ask you whether you indeed want to select that card by showing a Red X and a Green Checkmark below your selection. Why? This selection is very important since you are only selecting a single card. If you are playing on your smartphone and due to the small screen size you accidentally click on an adjacent card that you didn’t mean to select, you should have the opportunity to change your initial selection and select the one you wanted. Or even if you are playing on-line via a web browser, you are still given the chance to keep it or select another card back. Your card is then turned over.

If you complete your Optimum Flush Hand, congratulations, you win the corresponding pay table amount and the game is over. So if you were drawing on 4 cards to a Royal Flush and you select your missing 5th card to the Royal, you win the Royal Flush amount in the pay table!

And just like before, even if you don't select your missing Optimum Flush card, (e.g. you have 4 cards to a Straight Flush and you draw a card and get a standard Flush, a Straight or a Jacks or Better Pair), you win the amount in the pay table for that hand and then the 2nd Destiny Poker Bonus Game shown below begins.

  3. You will be shown a new Bonus screen with 30 tiles. You select tiles one at a time until you match either 3 of the same Bonus Award Amounts or 3 of the same number of Free Games. Please see the screenshot below:

The Bonus Award Amounts and number of Free Games for each type of Flush hand are shown below. Can you imagine only having 4 cards to a Royal Flush after 2 separate draws and yet you end up winning 3,000 Bonus Award Credits? That's 150% more than Aces with a Kicker!

    4 to a Royal Flush 4 to a Straight Flush 4 to a Flush
    3,000 Credits 200 Credits 30 Credits
    2,500 Credits 180 Credits 25 Credits
    2,000 Credits 150 Credits 20 Credits
3 Free Games 3 Free Games 3 Free Games
2 Free Games 2 Free Games 2 Free Games
1 Free Game 1 Free Game 1 Free Game

This is the 1st video poker game where you get more than one chance to pick the best possible outcome.

And have you ever seen a video poker game that you could win free games? Never before until Destiny Poker arrived.

Destiny Poker is also the 1st Video Poker Game where you can win up to five (5) times on a single hand; 2 different pay table amounts and also Bonus Credits or Free Games. For example, you are dealt 4 cards to a Royal Flush - 10, Jack, Queen and King:

  1. You first draw a 5th card that completes a Straight. You win the Straight amount in the pay table:
  2. Then comes your 2nd chance bonus round, the 1 in 47 Card Bonus Game. This time you select a 5th card that completes a Flush but not a Royal Flush. You win the Flush amount in the pay table:
  3. Then you get to select three matching cards and will win one of three (3) Bonus Awards or up to three (3) Free Games. If you won three (3) Free Games and in the 1st free game you had a 3 of a kind, then in the 2nd free game you had Jacks or Better and in the 3rd free game you had a Full House, in this and the examples shown above you would have won five (5) times:
    1. 20 credits for the 1st draw by completing a Straight
    2. 30 credits in the 1 in 47 Card Bonus Game by completing a Flush
    3. 15 credits for the 3 of a Kind in the 1st Free Game
    4. 5 credits for the Jacks or Better in the 2nd Free Game
    5. 45 Credits for the Full House in the 3rd Free Game

Or you can win up to 3,000 credits during the Match 3 Bonus Game. Isn’t this exciting?
